Scott Alexander
Physiotherapist & Owner
Scott graduated in 2004 from the University of Ottawa with a Bachelor of Science degree in Human Kinetics, followed by a post-graduate Master of Physical Therapy degree at Western University in 2006. Since graduating Scott has done numerous courses to continue his education and learn the most up to date evidence-based interventions to best treat his clients. In 2011, Scott completed his Level 5 manual therapy course and became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Therapists (FCAMPT). He is also a co-instructor of Manual Therapy courses with the Orthopaedic Division of the Canadian Physiotherapy Association.
Scott moved to Timmins in 2011 and is proud to be a co-founder of Restore Physiotherapy. He is a proud husband and father to 3 beautiful kids and spends most of his time trying to keep up with them. In his spare time he enjoys running, playing soccer, golf, and hockey.
Physiotherapist & Owner
Patricia Ferrari graduated from Western University in 2004 with an Honours degree in Health Sciences. She returned to Western University the following year to continue her studies and completed a Masters of Physical Therapy in 2006. Following her graduation, Patricia moved back to her hometown of Timmins and began working at the Timmins and District Hospital providing physiotherapy services in the public sector. While working at the hospital Patricia discovered her passion for treating patients with orthopaedic injuries and in 2012, she entered the private sector opening Restore Physiotherapy with her classmate and colleague Scott Alexander. She continues to extend her practice through continuing education courses in manual therapy and the assessment and treatment of concussions.
Away from the clinic, Patricia enjoys participating in the Timmins Selects Women’s Basketball league, golfing and spending time with her daughter Grace and husband Denis.
Kara graduated from Dalhousie University in 2012 with an Honours Bachelor of Science in Kinesiology degree before completing her Master of Physical Therapy at Western University in 2014. Kara grew up in South Porcupine and was thrilled at the opportunity to serve her community at Restore. She has been part of the Restore Physiotherapy team since 2014.
She became a Fellow of the Canadian Academy of Manipulative Physiotherapy (FCAMPT) in 2019 after completing all five levels of orthopedic manual and manipulative physiotherapy training. Beyond additional courses in concussion prevention and management, Kara has specialized pelvic health physiotherapy services. As a certified Pelvic Health Physiotherapist, she performs internal pelvic floor examinations and treatments for individuals experiencing incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse and pelvic girdle pain.
Away from the clinic you can find Kara in group fitness and yoga classes, playing recreational hockey, or coaching local girls hockey. An avid golfer, she aspires to golf two new courses each season. Kara enjoys exploring new places through travelling, hiking and canoe tripping.
Ian Wemyss
Physiotherapist
Ian graduated from the University of Western Ontario with a Bachelor of Science degree in Kinesiology. He then travelled overseas to Australia to the University of Sydney where he completed his Masters of Physiotherapy degree in 2010. After graduating, Ian returned home to work at the Timmins and District Hospital where he rotated between the various areas of the hospital.
After gaining valuable knowledge and experience at his first place of employment, Ian decided to transfer from the public system to private practice. The focus of his work shifted to treating musculoskeletal conditions including overuse, sport, motor vehicle accident injuries and workplace injuries. Along with working at Restore Physiotherapy, Ian has spent several semesters teaching at Northern College part-time in the Health Sciences department.
Aside from physiotherapy, Ian’s hobbies include spending time outdoors, hunting, hockey, soccer and golf. He also enjoys exercising and competing in triathlons (bike/swim/run).
