Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a health care field that treats and prevents disorders in human movement caused by injury and disease. It helps the individuals who have problems affecting the musculo-skeletal system to find a functional level. Our physiotherapists use various techniques to treat you such as manual therapy, sport therapy and progress by exercises, the McKenzie approach, electrotherapy, an evaluation followed by a Cybex/Biodex isokinetic session, hydrotherapy (whirlpool bath), Muscle Activation Technique, etc. Our patients can expect to improve their balance, stamina, force and coordination, which will help them to remain active in their daily life.
Guy graduated from McGill Kinesiology program in 2005 and from the Masters of Physical Therapy program in 2010. Guy has focused on spinal mobility and rehabilitation with McKenzie level D and Mulligan upper/lower/pelvis certifications. Back pain tends to be one of the biggest contributors to disability and correcting it helps people return to daily activity. His background in strength and conditioning has given him an appreciation for the required exercises athletes and the public need to return to play and how to grade them. He is an Agatsu Kettlebell coach and a competitive powerlifter. His other passion is correcting type 2 diabetes. He’s been a team leader for 5 years and has joined Action Sport Physio as the best vehicle to bring advanced therapeutic techniques to the public.
Guy has been involved in sport for 25 years and in rehabilitation for 13. If you can lift it, he likely tried. After working in private industry, the public health and in government he has decided to focus on the rehabilitation and training. Action Sport Physio gives Guy the best vehicle to deliver that.
Physiotherapy is the act of using manual therapy, education and exercise to help patients return to play and daily activities. Most injuries sustained by injury or illness can be reversed or controlled by some combination of rehabilitative techniques.
Guy is going to listen to what happened to you and how it effects your life. He'll do physical testing to determine a likely cause and begin treatment immediately. His goal? To quickly return his patients to maximal capacity.
Follow-up will include a review of the exercises, manual or mechanical therapy will be applied based on what's happening. Depending on what he sees other services may be called in.

Peter has worked passionately as a physiotherapist for 35 years. His delivery of quality rehabilitation has been extensively based on the best available evidence. His career began in sports medicine but this expertise took him inside the hospital environment where his strong dedication to get patients up and moving proved to be exciting and rewarding. Believing that movement brings better living, he was successful in engaging his patients to return to functional independence at the same time helping to shorten their length of stay in the hospital.
This same desire to empower the individual in taking charge of their health has lead him to bring this message into the community by promoting health and wellness and teaching the merits of active living .
Peter has contributed to the elevation of the physiotherapy profession through mentoring physiotherapy students from McGill University during their clinical stages. His collaborative approach allows him to assess discomforts, and injuries to the body as a whole as he works with clients towards pain-free and more active lifestyles.
Peter is continuously bettering himself in rehabilitation through continuing education and provides a positive attitude for all those around him and notably his clients.
In addition to his professional activities, Peter enjoys nordic walking, biking and spending time with his children, family and grandchildren.

Laura Mateias Stan, a dedicated physiotherapist, mother of two and sports lover. Since my years of competitive sport, physiotherapy has been a profession in which I have a great passion. Indeed, it was while playing volleyball for ten years that I discovered a huge interest in healing physical injuries.
My university career began with a bachelor's degree in physiotherapy obtained in Romania and recognized by the MRCI. Subsequently, I completed refresher courses at the School of Rehabilitation at the Faculty of Medicine of the University of Montreal to hold a place within the Professional Order of Physiotherapy of Quebec.
After obtaining my diploma, I completed a multitude of internships including several in external musculoskeletal and geriatrics, in addition to one in neurology. I worked for seven years, from 2011 to 2018, at the CLSC Côte-des-Neiges, where the work is quite varied in this field. I have dealt with both acute post-operative problems, PTG-PTH, as well as everyday injuries. I also worked for two years at the Nuvo Physio clinic on cases of complex musculoskeletal disorders in various pathologies. My time at the Nuvo clinic has brought me great professional development.
When I leave the professional world in the evenings and weekends, my life remains busy. Indeed, I spend a lot of time with my children. So I love going skating, swimming and playing volleyball with them to teach them good lifestyle habits. I also make sure that I cultivate healthy interpersonal relationships with my friends so that I can lead a balanced life.
