Katerina (and generally known as Kate) has been very fortunate to call Bow Valley home - twice. At first, growing up here during the 80's and 90's, and again now since 2009.
Her passion for healing grew first from involvement in competitive cross country skiing and the inspiring 1988 Olympians and their team support. As a result, Kate worked for years as sport team therapist for both cross country and biathlon national teams from 1994-2000. She studied a two year Massage Therapy intensive course with the main focus being sports massage, injury recovery and acute rehabilitation. Since then, she has added pregnancy massage, cranial sacral release, quantum touch, reflexology and energy work, all with intention of providing the best individual care she can for each and every one of her clients.

   Cathy is professionally trained and highly skilled in clinical and spa massage. She obtained a two year, 2,200 hour, diploma in Remedial Massage Therapy from MH Vicars, Calgary, Alberta. Her massage treatments/sessions are good for private medical insurance and motor vehicle accident Insurance claims.
  Cathy began studying and practicing eastern health philosophy and shiatsu in the 1990’s. Her focus is on therapeutic, wellness oriented massage treatments designed specifically for each client, be they youth, adult or senior.
   Cathy hikes, skis, mountain bikes, interval sprints and likes to train at high elevation. She has travelled extensively throughout Nepal, India (Northern), Thailand, South America and Europe. Canmore has been her home since
2001.

Shane is a highly trained and skilled Physical Therapist who owns and operates personalized physiotherapy clinics in Canmore and Lake Louise. He trained in Australia at the Southern Australia Institute of Technology to obtain his undergraduate degree in Physical Therapy. In the years since, he has undergone various continuing educational courses and postgraduate studies including Intermediate and Advanced certification in manual and manipulative physical therapy and sports physical therapy levels.

Shane has accumulated 15 years of extensive clinical experience. His certifications, experience and special interests include:
•Spinal Core and Cervical Stability Certification
•Core and Overall Strength Practices
•Advanced Manipulative Therapy Techniques
•Highly Skilled Manual Therapy
•IMS and Medical Acupuncture Certification
•Sports Injury Certification

Shane works and travels with the National Cross Country Ski Team. He also partakes in many activities that include telemark and cross-country skiing, ice and rock climbing, kayaking, hiking, mountain biking and running, activities which allow him to bring personal experience to the recovery process. Knowledge of the mechanics of a sport can significantly help with the rehabilitation process.

Lisa Pearson

Physical Therapist

Lisa has been a physiotherapist for over 25 years and has been lucky enough to practice in Canmore for most of that time. She grew up in Scotland where she earned her Bachelor’s degree in physiotherapy and her Master’s degree in sports science. Since graduation, she has pursued extensive education and has advanced professional qualifications in manual/manipulative therapy and needling procedures (anatomical acupuncture and intramuscular stimulation - IMS).  More recently, she has been pursuing training in medical therapeutic yoga and has started to incorporate yoga principles and postures into her assessments and treatments.  She thoroughly enjoys treating all of the aches, pains and injuries of people in our active town and she particularly loves the challenge of helping people with complex, 'hard to figure out' problems. Lisa has a special interest and training in concussion management, vestibular rehabilitation, TMJ (temporomandibular-jaw) problems and MVA (motor vehicle accident) injuries. She also does assessments for custom foot orthotics. 

Lisa has always loved sports. She grew up as a competitive swimmer and has competed in triathlons for over 25 years. She is an Ironman Canada finisher (2001), an Xterra (off road) Triathlon World Championship finisher (2010/2012) and a BC Bike Race finisher (2015). Lisa continues to enjoy triathlon, mountain biking, cross country skiing, snowshoeing and yoga. 

Lisa loves to travel and has volunteered her physio skills in Africa.  She has 2 active kids who she can still just about keep up with on her bike and skis!

Cindy Graff

Physical Therpaist

Cindy Graff has been a physiotherapist for more than 13 years, and has practiced in a number of orthopedic and heath care environments.  

She has worked in a variety of environments focussing on orthopaedic care such as: private practice, community therapy, inpatient/outpatient orthopedics, post- operative care and long-term care. She graduated from the University of Saskatchewan in 1999, and since that time has continued to pursue and acquire many courses in manual therapy, acupuncture and needling (Canadian Acupuncture Foundation and Gokavi Transverse Technique), concussion management and vestibular rehabilitation taping, athletic training, Myofascial release, core strengthening, running /gait analysis, and rehabilitative exercise.  Cindy enjoys treating a variety of musculoskeletal injuries, and working with her clients to reduce and eliminate pain, increase function, improve movement, increase strength, and helping people get back to their personal and professional well-being.

Cindy has always had a love of the outdoors and the water.  She grew up around the water, and was a synchronized swimmer, and a water polo player for over 15 years.  She has gone to national competitions in these sports and has enjoyed working with athletes at all levels and areas of competition.  She moved with her family to Canmore in 2011 to get closer to her the mountains she loves, and all of the activities that come with it.  With her family an friends, she enjoys hiking, downhill skiing, cross country skiing, as well as all sports that are in the water.  She is very happy and proud to be part of the community of Canmore, and can’t wait to work with you. 

Garnett grew up in small town Saskatchewan and after a career in the trades followed his passion for rehabilitation. Garnett graduated from the University of Saskatchewan with a bachelors of science in Kinesiology and Masters of Physiotherapy. He has enjoyed practicing in private and public healthcare settings though a lifelong dream of mountain living has led him from the prairies to Canmore. 

With a history in personal fitness endeavors such as competitive bodybuilding, Crossfit and powerlifting, Garnett has taken special interest in injury prevention and recovery, focusing on the management of general aches and pains to sport and lifestyle related injuries. In the pursuit of lifelong learning Garnett continues his education in dry needling, manipulative therapy, pain management and geriatric physiotherapy courses. His treatment philosophy involves a holistic approach to recovery, involving hands on, education and exercise based treatment strategies. 

Garnett enjoys hiking, snowboarding, driving motorcycles and any activity that allows him to spend time outside with his dog. He looks forward to serving the residents of Canmore and area in the years to come. 

Brenna graduated from the University of Alberta with a MSc. in Physiotherapy (2020) after completing a BSc. in Honours Neuroscience (2017). 

Brenna has a special interest in women's health, chronic pain/pain neuroscience, and sports injury rehabilitation. She has completed postgraduate training in women's health and is a certified Pelvic Health therapist. Brenna treats women 18yrs+ with concerns such as urinary incontinence, pelvic organ prolapse, pelvic pain, painful intercourse, diastasis recti, and pain throughout pregnancy. 

Brenna has previously acted as head trainer for the Edmonton Pandas U18 AA Hockey (AFHL) in their 2021-2022 season, has worked with Hockey Alberta as a head therapist during their developmental 2022 summer camps, and as a game-day physiotherapist for the Augustana Vikings (ACAC) Men's Hockey during the 2021-2022 season.  She is currently contracted to work once again with the Augustana Vikings throughout their 2022-2023 season.

Heather Bester

Registered Dietitian

Heather holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Foods and Nutrition from the University of Alberta followed by a Dietetic Internship. She has been a Registered Dietitian for 22 years, and is a member of the College of Dietitians of Alberta and Dietitians of Canada. Her knowledge encompasses her scientific training, life experiences and exploration of new ideas. Heather’s experience includes extensive assessment and counselling in areas of healthy eating and chronic disease management. She is passionate about helping you to find your optimum nutrition, whether for peak performance in athletics, maximizing health and energy levels, weight control or minimizing the effects of ageing. She believes in increasing enjoyment of wholesome real foods and has many practical tips and recipes to share. Heather has initiated programs such as community gardens, cooking circles, fresh food boxes, buying clubs and group educational sessions. Her customized workshops include topics such as sports nutrition, feeding healthy families and “picky” eaters.

Heather leads an active lifestyle including hiking, biking, skiing, skating and “boot camp”.
