Physiotherapy
Physiotherapy is a health care profession focused on maintenance and rehabilitation of the body. Physiotherapists are trained to assess, diagnose and treat a variety of conditions, injuries and diseases. Physiotherapy is effective in the treatment and management of arthritis, acute and chronic pain in the back, neck, or joints and strength and conditioning.
During your assessment, your physiotherapist will perform an assessment and develop a treatment plan in order to achieve your functional goals. Physiotherapy uses manual techniques, exercise, modalities (ultrasound, TENS, Shock Wave), and education to promote, maintain and restore function.
Athletic Therapy
Certified Athletic Therapists adhere to the Sports Medicine Model of care. They treat a wide range of patients, from kids with concussions, musculoskeletal (muscles, bones, and joints) injuries to seniors recovering from hip replacement surgery, using various manual therapies, modalities, exercise prescription and even bracing and taping. The treatment varies but the objective doesn’t: an Athletic Therapist will help their client reach their goals.
Massage Therapy
Massage therapy consists primarily of hands-on manipulation of the soft tissues of the body, specifically, the muscles, connective tissue, tendons, ligaments and joints for the purpose of optimizing health.
Massage therapy treatment has a therapeutic effect on the body and optimizes health and well-being by acting on the muscular, nervous and circulatory systems. Physical function can be developed, maintained and improved; and physical dysfunction and pain and the effects of stress can be relieved or prevented through the use of Massage Therapy.
Sprains, strains and adhesions can be addressed directly with massage techniques that stimulate healthy separation and realignment of injured fibers. Massage also increases circulation which helps fascia and muscles begin to soften and lengthen, like a sponge absorbing water. Good circulation reduces painful swelling and inflammation, and promotes healing by removing waste products and bringing nutrients to your tissues
FMS
FMS is the screening tool used to identify limitations or asymmetries in seven fundamental movement patterns that are key to functional movement quality in individuals with no current pain complaint or known musculoskeletal injury.
These movement patterns are designed to provide observable performance of basic loco motor, manipulative and stabilizing movements by placing an individual in extreme positions where weaknesses and imbalances become noticeable if appropriate mobility and motor control is not utilized
Movement Matters:
Movement quality is an essential component to reducing the risk of injury and reaching optimal levels of performance.
Systematic Approach:
A reliable baseline to screen and evaluate movement is key to providing actionable and effective steps for performance and recovery.
Communication: The system allows for performance and rehabilitation professionals to speak the same language when communicating client progress and treatment.
Chiropractics
Chiropractic is a form of alternative medicine that focuses on diagnosis and treatment of mechanical disorders of the musculoskeletal system, primarily the spine and nervous system. Treatments involve manual therapy, mobilizations, soft tissue techniques and exercise prescription.
Chiropractic works to re-establish mobility and proper alignment of your joints. Often, this restores balance within your body and allows you to return to pain-free movement and optimal health
Personal Training
A personal trainer is a fitness professional involved in exercise prescription and instruction. They motivate clients by setting goals, providing feedback and accountability.
An assessment of each client will be performed to determine strengths and weaknesses and most importantly the goals of each client. A personalized exercise program will be created to achieve these goals.
Each of your instructors are health care professionals equipped with the experience, education and motivation to help you REACH your PEAK.
